Melaka by Bus — Melaka Sentral to Jonker Street & Beyond

Cities · updated 2026-10-05

Melaka's old town — the Stadthuys, Christ Church, Jonker Street — is compact and walkable. The catch is that long-distance buses arrive at Melaka Sentral, a few kilometres north. The city's BAS.MY Melaka buses (once called myBAS, now on M-numbered routes) bridge the gap.

To the historic centre: route M100

Take the M100 "Bandaraya Melaka Feeder", a loop from Melaka Sentral. Get off around Muzium Samudera, Menara Taming Sari or Dataran Pahlawan — each a short walk from the Stadthuys and the bridge to Jonker Walk. (There's no stop actually called "Stadthuys".)

Getting to Melaka from KL

Most people come by express coach from TBS (Terminal Bersepadu Selatan) in KL, or straight from KLIA and KLIA2, to Melaka Sentral — about 2 to 2½ hours. Book on the operators' sites or at the terminal. The coaches aren't part of our live data, so check the operator for times.

By train, ETS services stop at Pulau Sebang/Tampin and Batang Melaka, then it's a BAS.MY bus into town. Note that KTM Komuter trains south of Kuala Lumpur run a reduced timetable until the end of 2026 because of track works.

Route figures and maps on this page were generated on 2026-10-05 from the official open-data feeds — the same source the live tracker uses.
